The music created in a recording studio can be nothing short of pure MAGIC, and that is exactly what can be found in Muscle Shoals, a music documentary about the legendary FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in the Alabama town by the same name. Beyond the gear and the studio itself, it's all about the people, and filmmaker Greg “Freddy” Camalier tells the story of the founding producer, musician and songwriter, Rick Hall, who brought together countless scores of incredible soul, rock and blues musicians. Once you watch the film, you'll instantly recognize plenty of songs you know and love. Having never been to Alabama, these studios are still on my bucket list of places to visit, and I hope one day I will be lucky enough to walk those hallowed halls.
